SenTek 9001 X-ray Source
Our heavier X-ray source is still a very compact design - weighing just 8kg (17 lbs), and no larger than 20cm (8 inches) in any direction, it is easy to manage and install. This X-ray source is used for our Mid-range and Heavy X-ray gauges, heavy coat weight gauges, and some lab gauges.
This X-ray features a monoblock design with built-in high-voltage power supply and control electronics. It only requires a 24 volt power supply feed to operate.
This unit is cooled with recirculating water/glycol mix, allowing it to operate reliably and comfortably in hot mill environments.
The Electrical Specifications are: Power Supply 24-28VDC 10A
20-80kV / 0.2-2.0mA Target Material: W Beam Shape: Micro-focus
The target material and beam shape of this X-ray source permits us to tune it for heavy gauge applications where older X-ray sources required a higher voltage, up to 160kV!

SenTek 5001 X-ray Source
The lighter X-ray source is a smaller very light weight unit - weighing just 400g (1 lb), it fits in the smallest of our gauge systems. This X-ray source is used for our Foil and Light-Gauge systems, light coat weight gauges, and some lab gauges. It is also used for some isotope-to-X-ray conversions.
This X-ray is used with an external power supply with filament regulator (a 24 volt device).
This unit features a unique air-channel cooling with forced air. As the air flow volume is increased, the power rating and ambient temperature is increased as well.
